Biography

Gabriel de Solages (aka Gab de Soul) is a 21-year-old producer, writer, and performer who’s currently studying Independent Recording and Production at Berklee College of Music. He has been a part of two bands: The Belgium-based duo Studio Boys and the Boston-based neo-psychedelic band Retrograde88. Now Gabriel works under the alias Gab de Soul and he is developing an artistic profile to release his own works as an individual and multi-faceted musician. The project revolves around a dream-pop and neo-psychedelic sound with an emphasis on euphoric and larger-than-life sensations.

Born in Paris, Gabriel has been listening to music since he was born. His father has always played the piano in the house, and early on Gabriel has gained interest in the instrument. He began learning about music at the age of 3 starting with piano lessons and has now extended his instrumental knowledge to synthesizers, electric bass, and drums. Since he began producing in 2013, he has gained deep knowledge of DAWs such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and ProTools. In his teenage years, he discovered a passion for jazz piano which has resulted in a deep knowledge of harmony and melody. Now Gabriel’s focus has shifted to music production, and mixing, in addition to a multi-instrumentalist skillset.
